What is a power optimiser?

A power optimiser is used to optimise systems to produce the maximum amount of electricity.

Solar panel systems are connected in what we call "strings." In a string, the panel with the least production will lead the production of the remaining panels. A power optimiser for solar panels is a component attached to an individual solar panel to optimise power output and increase efficiency. The optimiser ensures that the other panels do not experience reduced production if shaded by a chimney or leaves sticking to the panel.
